Prince Charles and Camilla visit Royal Cornwall Show

The Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, has also been seen visiting the event on Friday

The second day of the first Royal Cornwall Show since the pandemic is proving to be one of big visits, including royalty!

Prince Charles and Camilla are touring various stands on Friday 10th June, hot on the heels of a surprise visit from Boris Johnson.

The Prime Minister is said to have made a last-minute decision to attend the event at the showground near Wadebridge, reportedly arriving to cheers and shouts of “having a party Boris?”

He spoke with the crowds, met MPs and posed for a picture with thumbs up, during which he is reported to have said: “Yeah, it’s Cornwall. Let’s big up Cornwall”.

HRH The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall last came to the event in 2018 but this year’s visit is particularly poignant, as it marks Prince Charles’ 70th year as the Duke of Cornwall.

The couple have been enjoying greeting the crowds and touring the trade stands, as well as watching the Grand Parade of Livestock.

His Royal Highness has also made the presentation to the 2021 and 2022 winners of his own award, The Duke of Cornwall’s Award for Farm Diversity.

The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall have spent the day touring trade stands during their visit to the Royal Cornwall Show, including The Dog Show, Flower Tent, Cornwall Air Ambulance and numerous exhibits in the Food and Farming Pavilion.

The couple were all smiles as they went around the showground near Wadebridge, waving to and greeting the crowds.
